A Blaine, Washington man, Devin Cooper, thought he met the love of his life on the popular dating app bumble. It was not what he thought.

“I just thought Julia was so beautiful and smart,” Cooper said. “I never would have thought it was the President of Russia!”

It turns out Cooper was communicating with Vladimir Putin.

“Julia…well, I guess Vlad was always talking about how he wanted me to go with him to St Petersburg because the Eastside is the best side,” Cooper said.

There’s been an uptick in Russian trolls and bots across the Internet since the Ukraine / Russia war started and that has now spilled over into online dating apps.

Bumble and Vladimir declined to comment. Devon Cooper is still single.
